GMI aids in National Prosecuting Authority Inquiry
Following the suspension of Senior NPA Officials Nomgcobo Jiba and Lawrence Mrwebi, an inquiry is set to take place into their fitness to hold office. This inquiry came about due to how the pair dealt with charges against former crime intelligence head Richard Mdluli.
Both Jiba, Deputy National Director of Public Prosecutions, and Mrwebi, were suspended with full pay on 25 October until the inquiry is complete.
The Inquiry will be an internal process to advise president Cyril Ramaphosa on the fitness of Jiba and Mrwebi to hold office. It is being led by Justice Yvonne Mokgoro, and is being assisted by Kgomoto Moroka and GMI Attorney Thenjiwe Vilakazi.
